One Whole Month of Crafty.

Today marks the one month mark in my goal, I did it! I made things for one whole month. Yes, I was tempted the other day (by my best friend!) to make a tower of mini saltines- photograph it and call it done, but I actually MADE something arty instead. :P Though I suppose the leaning tower of saltines would be art to someone. LOL.

Today's project was fast and easy, because yet again I feel like ick. This cold just refuses to leave.

It's a card of my own creation, which may end up being someone's birthday card. I may end up adding ribbon to it too, I can't decide. I was inspired by the design of a store bought card a friend gave me. It opens from the top, kind of like a matchbook. The bottom (blue) portion folds down from the middle. SO the thing has two folds in it that overlap. I can't explain this right my head is full of cold medicine. Does anyone understand me?
This is a testament of how icky I feel. I have received 3 boxes of scrapstuff in the mail this week and only opned and molested the contents. I have not USED any of them, save one scrap of ribbon on a page a few days ago. Ugh. I want to create I just don't feel good.
Can the art project I am teaching my kids tomorrow (How to drawVan Gogh's Starry Night) count as my thing created? It may just, depending on how I feel after a 2 hour long meeting of evil.

School Crafty.

Today's project was part work, part crafty.

I used my Cricut to make headers for our class science fair projects. The soda cans are hot glued on there. and I had to add the stars because I put the lettering on UPSIDE DOWN. Am so stupid sometimes.

One of our projects was "Does diet soda really have less sugar than regular soda?" Check it out. diet soda floats!

We also used a homemade hydrometer to measure the density of the soda. We added suagr to a cup of water until it matched. There are 3 teaspoons of sugar in a can of Dr. Pepper... and the density of the diet soda, matched the plain water with no sugar added. Still not enough to convince me to drink diet. YUCK. I love the real stuff for the tsate. Sorry.

The other experiment was "Who is faster, boys or girls?" According to our research (olympic records) men are faster than women.... and after racing & timing...yes the boys were on average faster. One of my girls was faster than mostof my boys though.

I am so ready for science fair to be OVER.

Disclaimer: This is not a Valentine.

I do not celebrate nor endorse that holiday of evol. I loathe it, I spit on it.

I bought this card kit becuase I love Basic Grey...esp Blush and it was like half off at Christmastime. Today I worked hard, felt like crap, and wanted something easy to make, so I broke this out. I added the ink and ribbon, everything else was in the kit.

Spelunking?

Last February we went to the Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson and they have this really cool cave exhibit. That's where these pictures were taken. This is my sister and my uncle.
I have such a bad cough my stomach muscles hurt from coughing so much. :(
I got a box from CTMH today cute stamps, ribbon, and a project kit for a contest they are having. My consultant loves me and sent it to me for free. *squishes*
Josh Groban singing "Lullabye" live. OMG. *dies* Thank you XM Radio. Thank you Jaz.

Pages

I grade some papers this morning while watching a movie and then scrapbooked all afternoon so I do not feel guilty. I have a big stack to hand back tomorrow, even if they are not ALL done. :P

I actually SEWED on this page. I Do not sew, not even buttons... but the little heart demanded it. Pics of my niece taken this summer, enjoying her first Oreo.

My dad is a nature fiend. I took these pics at Sabino Canyon near Tucson. The journaling reads something like: I got my love of nature from my dad the park ranger. I just happen to prefer a hotel bed to a tent!

This was a redo. The original page had the same basic LO but I changed the pics and the title and added the brads. Chris Botti is an amazing trumpet player. haven't heard of him? Click the link on my sidebar.

My grandpa and uncle in the backseat of my dad's car during out roadtrip through AZ last February. My grandpa was sticking his tongue out at me in the bottom picture. LOL.

My niece enjoying a bath in my tub. I always love when I can experience something ordinary in her life like this. That's what the journaling is about.

Nothin's gonna harm you...

Didn't used to be so fond of this song, then Anaheim happened and I was able to be up near the stage for it. Josh sits on the egde of the stage when he sings this one, and invites the first four rows to gather around him while he sings and signs things for them. Only 1 person bettween me and Josh. Then I saw Sweeney Todd... and now, I just love it. These pics were taken in Phoenix from my row 12 seat with my zoom lens, my Anaheim ones are way better.

I actually used some of my new Christmas paper to make these pages. I really needed to escape my own self made red & black curse. I'd only scrapped Josh on red & black for so long (my whole Vegas album) that I was begining to worry if I could move away from that. These pages proved I was able to.

Also there is this coffee cup I made for Jena a couple weeks ago. I mentioned it here. She's finally recieved it in the mail so I can share it here now. It says "squee" down the right side next to the picture of Josh holding coffee.

In Her Eyes

This is one of my FAVORITE Josh songs. In cocncert this is the song where he walks through the audience. He never did come near my row, but everytime I was hopeful and my heart just pounded. In Vegas I SOBBED though this song. I thought it was going to be the last time I saw him do it live. Then I got a ticket for Anaheim. :) These pics were taken by me at the LA show.

IN HER EYES

She stares through my shadow
She sees something more
Believes there's a light in me
She is sure
And her truth makes me stronger
Does she realize
I awake every morning
With her strength by my side

Iam not a hero
I am not an angel
I am just a man
Man who's trying to love her
Unlike any other
In her eyes I am
This world keeps on spinning
Only she stills my heart
She's my inspiration
She's my northern star
I don't count my possessions
All I call mine
I will give her completely
To the end of all time
(repeat chorus)

Here's a short video clip of Josh singing this song in Amsterdam (He sings it right to the person holding tha camera. gah. Watching vids of this song live make me cry. I can not wait for the Awake dvd.

Minibook complete!

Finished the minibook of doom. I adore it.

I used stickers and rubs on's for the titles.

each card is backed with pink/green/brown
patterned paper. Ribbons on a bookring bind it.
I sanded the edges of them all. I hate the sound
of sandpaper. It hurts my teeth, but I braved through it.

Here are my favorite 2 pages.

If you want to see the whole thing

it's HERE.
In case you are curious as to who those goobers are...
Green: Me
Pink: Sally
Brown: Lou

This is Me Journal

Was distracted from my minibook &

Made this pretty little thing for THIS challenge.

Can't decide if I like it better with or without the stars. (They aren't attached yet).

What do you think? If you are reading this comment! PLEASE!

The journal was only $1 from Michael's & was already damask & black. I just added the pretties.

I did work on the minibook too, and made a card for a friend, but won't post it until she gets it.

Work in Progress

Still working on my minibook. I may finish it tomorrow. Depends how much I get done tonight. Here's a peek at it.
Went shopping yesterday and got DCWV Chrsitmas Stacks at Joann's for like $5. OMG. SQUEE!
Also saw Sweeney Todd. It's freaking awesome! Just beware that it's a HORROR/ MUSICAL. Completely sick and twisted, but Johnny & the music and the cinematography... AMAZING.

Green & Brown

Those seem to be the colors of today's pages, with a little blue thrown in. This first one is my friends Sally & Lou and I playing "faces in the mirror" which is totally fun. All you need is a friend or 2, a big mirror and a camera (or 3). Take turns shouting out emotions or situations and make a corresponding face on the count of three, snap a picture at the same time. My handwriting is on the tag, but the writing under squee is a font from my computer. I am currently making a minibook with these funny faces pictures. That will be my thing created for the next few days, as I assume it will tkae me a few days to finish. So, no updates until it's done and I can share the whole thing. Maybe a sneak preview though. :)
The green box reads "This picture makes me..." Click on it to see it bigger. There are two journaling spots on this one. These pictures were taken in LA, outside the Staples Center before & after Josh hugged me. Since my picture of the actual hug was lost on my friends missing memory card these pictures are most precious to me. The only pic on this LO not taken by me is the bottom right one. It was tkaen by my friend Emma right before/after he hugged me. I am pretty sure that my head is on the right sid eof that photo and he is smiling AT ME there.

This page is actually my favorite of the three. I really love how it turned out. Pictures by me.I used Basic Grey "Infuse" for this one and the one above it. The first one was made with 3 Bugs in a Rug "Back Porch." The journaling spots on these are by Dasiy D's.

Happy Ivan, Birthday Boy

My neice Kaitee shares her birthday with her 2nd cousin Ivan, they were born in the same hospital, and their moms shared a room. They also shared their first birthday party. I don't do many BOY pages so this was a fun challenge. I LOVE this paper by Sassafrass Lass.

Cropped!

Last night/early this morning I was at a crop. I made 5 LO's and started another, which I actually finished before I went to bed at 3am.

A little bit about these LOs.

You Biffer: While Sally was here she learned a fun new phase, "Biff it" which became "You Biffer!" She even had it put on a shirt. On the page is a picture of me from our trip, shortly after I "biffed it" and almost cracked my head open. It was my own fault for jumping on the bed.

Aunt Kimmy: Underneath the Shakespere quote is hidden journaling about how much I adore Kaitee. I love the green & pink graph book paper by Love, Elsie. Funny beinga teacher I didn't even realize it was a gradebook until Lou pointed it out. The pictures were taken on seperate occasions, but I'm wearing the same outfit, even my accessories are the same. (It's also what I wore to the Anaheim concert).

Sweet Girl: A picture I took of Kaitee at her first birthday party. I love how this one is so simple. I used a kit from Scrap Addict for the papers. The ribbon was given to me by my friend Amy and the stamps are ones I gave Lou for Christmas.

Fabulous Fall: The pictures are my cousins back in Michigan when I visted them in Fall of '06 and we went to a cider mill. They all climbed up the tree and looked so cute.

Hey Hay!: More pictures formt eh cider mill trip. My cousin Zachary is ontop of the haystack in the top pic and the bottom one just amuses me. The sign says " No climbing, $100 Fine" and the haystacks are covered with kids.

Little Artist: Another picture from my trip to Michigan in Fall of '06. My cousin Miranda is impossible to get a picture of, but I really love this one, even though you can't see her whole face. Her toothless grin and crayon picture just make me smile.

I've got another 2 page LO to share that I just finished, as my nap was rudely interrupted by my noisy neighbors. Since this one is already full of pics, I'll post that seperately later.

Hot Tamale!

I am feeling MUCH MUCH better today. The Dr. gave me antibiotics yesterday. YAY!

This LO was fun. When Sally came to visit from Engalnd we had to teach her how to make Mexicican food. I've had that Mexican blanket paper forever. This was the perfect thing to use it on. :) I love "Thickers", but I hate how they dont STICK. I had to use adhesive on them. How annoying. They market them as "thick" stickers...stickers are supposed to stick. I wouldn't mind tacking them down myself if they weren't marketed as stickers in the first place.

My December

I've had this page in my head for about a week now, but couldn't make it until my ink cartidge got here. Sucks living in the middle of nowhere. I have order my ink even though it's availible at Walmart. The nearest Walmart is 30 miles away and I have no car. So if I want something NOW I gotta order it.

The ink got here Monday, but I haven't felt decent until today. Go figure, NOW I can go to the doctor and I feel lots better, I'm going anyway so I can get all better. Anyhow, I created this collage of pics on PSP and printed it as one piece, but I had to add strips of white paper between the pics because they were so dark they blended together. Everything in this LO except the title was from the December '07 ConCroption kit. :)
The title was fun. It comes from a Josh Groban song. I stamped "December" on a transparency and then traced the "my" from some of the other months so the font would be the same. I used an exacto to cut the bottoms of some of the letters out and taped the back of the transparency on the back of the photo.

Here's a video of Josh singing "My December" from Live at the Greek.
I love this song. It's a cover of a Linkin park song, and I think Josh's version rocks more, though I may be a tad biased there. :P

Happy Halloween?

My cold has been killing me today. I've got a substitute for tomorrow, but I suffered through today. My head was pounding all day and my ears hurt, not exactly the condition you want to be in a room full of noisy kids all day. Ugh. I am going to the doctor tomorrow, that was the soonest they could get me in.

Anyway, since I suffered through kids, I figured I couldn't break my goal. I took a nice nap on my couch. Then I grabbed scraps from my power outage page and made a quick Halloween card. Seriously, it took me less than 10 minutes. It's going in my card box for next Halloween. I decorated it inside & out. Now I need to chug some Nyquil and crawl back in bed for 12 hours.

Iconage

I feel like crap today. My cough has moved to my chest and it hurts.

No energy to scrap, but I had to make icons when I found these pictures including my hand and Josh. : ) The icons are Here .

Here is a screencap of them( it was easier that way)
If you want the individual icons go to the link. :)

I'm Blue.... da be de da be do.

Today's two pages feature the sunshine of my life, Kaitee, my "neice". I got to visit her today, I hadn't seen her in over a month, she's making little words now. So cute.

On the 2nd page I added rain dots to the swirlies to give them more dimension, I think it looks really neat. It was based off a sketch from "Gettin' Sketchy." Check out their link to the right. A new sketch is posted once a month. :)

Canto Alla Vita~I Sing to Life

Today's "thing made" may be the project I submit for my ConCroption monthly LO. I need to check and make sure most of this stuff is availible in their store first, but a lot of it came in that box I got, so I think it'll do.

These are not my pictures, as this was in the 2nd half of the show and my friend & I had traded places then so I was too far away... but I have to scrapbook the whole show right? My Vegas album is all black/red/white. I cheated a little on this LO & used cream instead, becuase I adore the Jenni Bowlin die cut paper.

This is "Canto Alla Vita" (Live in Vegas~ 4.7.07)

Not sure if I can embed youtube vids here so I'm just sharing a link.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zylrQLlP9eA
This is Josh singing the song mentioned above live in Seattle. I wasn't at this show, but I was about in the same place as this girl in Anaheim. :) Watch it until the end, he plays the drums too!
