This year I've decided to try the One Little Word project. Where you chose a word and it becomes like your theme of the year. Thinking about your word daily, acting upon it, to improve yourself in some way.
The word I've chosen to live this year is DREAM. I have always been a dreamer, for as long as I can remember. So I've decided this year to live my dreams.
I am going to focus on three of my dreams: a childhood dream, a short term dream, and a long term dream.
Childhood Dream: Go to Disneyland. I've always wanted to go, but have never been. Once I was close enough to see the fireworks from Disneyland but had no one to go with. I should have just gone by myself. This year for Spring Break I am planning a trip there with 2 of my best friends.
Short Term Dream: Get published in a scrapbooking magazine. This has been a dream of mine for a few years, but after so much rejection (not being chosen for publication) I shifted my dream to working on design teams and haven't submitted anything for consideration for publication in years. So this year I intend to start submitting things again. his dream may, or may not come true, but I can at least say I put effort into it again. Any tips from those of you who have been published would be greatly appreciated!! :)
Long Term Dream: Visit Europe with my dad. We've talked about it for years, and it's been just that, a dream. This year I am going to start putting aside a little money each month so we can save up enough to go in a year or two. We plan on visiting Italy, Germany, & England... perhaps Switzerland & Holland as well. So we'll probably be saving for few years, but no time to start like the present. :)
I created the following art piece to help me stay in mind of my OLW.
Perhaps as my dreams come true I'll add photos to it.
Lots of glimmer mist, glimmer glam, acrylic paint, water color ink, gesso and glitter went into this 8x8 canvas piece. BTW, to stamp on canvas you need help! Glad I had an extra pair of hands to push on the stamp from the back! :)
This is where it is on display in my scrapbook room, a constant reminder to DREAM and follow those dreams!
